Fewer and fewer women die from breast cancer in recent years but, surprisingly, the decline is just as large in the age groups that are not screened. The decline is therefore due to better treatment and not screening for breast cancer.

This is shown by a major Danish-Norwegian study, Effect of organised mammography screening on breast cancer mortality: A populationbased cohort study in Norway, which has just been published in the scientific journal International Journal of Cancer.

Columbus Regional Health (Columbus, Ind.) has deployed a Carestream DRX-Transportable System/Lite to complete its conversion to DR. The DRX-Transportable System/Lite includes a wireless DRX Plus 3543 detector, wireless access point and tablet PC. It is used in two fluoroscopy rooms and a general exam room that has fixed detectors.

In February 2018, a workshop was held at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, to explore concerns about the safety of gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) and gadolinium retention. The workshop was co-sponsored by NIH, the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) and the American College of Radiology (ACR).
