Densitas Inc. has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for its DENSITAS|density automated breast density software. The software analyzes the same processed digital mammograms that radiologists view and are routinely stored in picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).

April 13, 2018 — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared the latest version of the Somatom Force, the flagship dual-source computed tomography (CT) system from Siemens Healthineers. The system now features the new FAST (Fully Assisting Scanner Technologies) Integrated Workflow, which helps ensure precise patient positioning.

Researchers have developed a new imaging agent that could help guide and assess treatments for people with various neurological diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis. The agent, which is used in positron emission tomography (PET) scans, targets receptors in nerve cells in the brain that are involved in learning and memory. The study is featured in the April issue of The Journal of Nuclear Medicine.
