The new American College of Radiology (ACR) Commission on Patient Experience will produce resources to help radiology professionals provide and document patient and family-centered care. Chaired by James V. Rawson, M.D., FACR, of Augusta, Georgia, the commission will also enhance relationships with patient advocacy groups to ensure that patients have a voice in future radiologic care.

The Texas Center for Proton Therapy announced it has selected RayStation from RaySearch Laboratories as its treatment planning software. The 63,000-square-foot facility in the Dallas/Fort Worth area will have capacity to treat more than 100 patients per day in three treatment rooms when it opens in late 2015. It will be the first stand-alone LEED-Certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) proton therapy center in the United States.
