A new version of the LightMat Surgical Illuminator features an integral adhesive that makes it easier to handle and use and provides a thinner profile for ORs and ASCs. It combines cool, bright, shadowless light with a low profile, high brightness and ease of use.

The Ultra-Thin LightMat comes with Ultra-Brite technology and includes extra wraparound adhesives, helpful in particularly rugged or oily cases.

A new compact ultrasound system that addresses the growing demand for cardiac imaging at the point of care, the Vivid e is designed to provide a cardiovascular ultrasound solution for the physician office in a practical, easy to use design.

The EZ-IO by Vidacare, recently FDA-cleared for access in the distal tibia for both adult and pediatric patients, provides an immediate method of accessing the circulation through the intraosseous (IO) route, a technique that is being used by an increasing number of emergency care personnel for resuscitation and stabilization. IO infusion accesses the central circulation through blood vessels within the bone marrow that are held open by a rigid, non-collapsible bony wall.

VIASYS Respiratory Care Inc., a subsidiary of VIASYS Healthcare Inc., recently received FDA clearance to market its PulmoLife spirometry screener. PulmoLife is a COPD device designed for quick and easy screening of adult smokers for early detection of COPD. Smokers are at the greatest risk of developing COPD and decline in lung function in susceptible smokers has been shown to be twice that of non-smokers.
