March 1, 2007 - WinScribe announced that its digital dictation solution has reportedly helped healthcare professionals and medical transcriptionists reduce the time it takes to produce medical reports by as much as 150 percent because of integrated speech recognition capabilities and the speed at which the dictation is transcribed. The system allegedly lets users choose how and when dictation is transcribed and how reports are routed.

March 1, 2007 - Philips has unveiled the IntelliVue Clinical Information Portfolio (ICIP), which enables the exchange of patient data or electronic health records (EHRs) across providers� networks, reportedly bringing a patient�s accumulated clinical data to clinicians while providing support for automated regulatory compliance through its ability to integrate into hospitals� IP enterprise architecture.

Philips also demonstrated the benefits of exchanging patient data by allowing show attendees to create and build an integrated electronic health record.

March 1, 2007 - Misys Healthcare Systems and MedAptus announced the integration MedAptus Electronic Charge capture with Misys EMR, Misys Vision, Misys Tiger and Misys ambulatory solution suite, claiming the system will flag potential errors for editing prior to submission, prompt accurate coding at the point-of-care and enable physician offices to avoid missing charges and maintain accurate records.

March 1, 2007 - GE Healthcare unveiled its efforts to connect clinicians across the healthcare continuum by demonstrating a simulated healthcare network, the Centricity Continuum of Care pavilion which infuses information into the care process to support clinicians in providing safer, more cost-effective care.

Technologies highlighted during this demonstration included the Centricity Enterprise Solution, the Centricity Electronic Medical Records and Centricity Business.

March 1, 2007 - GE Healthcare launched its newest Centricity Laboratory Information System (LIS), reportedly designed to handle high-volume test-processing needs of mid-to large-sized labs and multi-hospital facilities and aimed at helping healthcare organizations automate and integrate their laboratory processes. The system is now available with a Transfusion Medicine module, a new QC module, and additional security features.

Merge Healthcare recently announced the name of its North American direct business unit will be changed from Merge eMed to Merge Healthcare North America.

March 1, 2007 – Siemens Medical Solutions demonstrated at HIMSS 2007 its new web-enabled addition to the syngo Suite, allowing radiologists to use digital dictation, 3-D viewing tools and lab results from anywhere.

The single-sign on system uses progressive transfer of DICOM images, reportedly securely transferring up to 50 MB per second, point-to-point over WAN Wifi.
