Toshiba recently received FDA 510(k) clearance for its new EXCELART Vantage powered by Atlas 1.5T MRI system, designed to improve patient comfort and enhance workflow.

(HOLX), provider of imaging and interventional systems directed towards women’s health, recently announced the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Agency (USAMMA), Fort Detrick, MD, selected Hologic for all mammography computer-aided detection (CAD) units the Army will purchase in 2007.

Feb. 28, 2007 - The nation’s community pharmacies announced that Massachusetts ranks first in the nation in electronic prescribing and recognized the state, along with nine others, as part of the second annual Safe-Rx Awards. Electronic prescribing, or “e-prescribing,” is widely acknowledged as a means of enhancing patient safety. The Safe-Rx Award is given annually by the nation’s community pharmacies to the top 10 e-prescribing states in the nation and to three physicians in each winning state who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in their use of e-prescribing technology.

February 28, 2007 Steris Corp. announced today that list prices for its healthcare segment products will increase by an average of nine percent as of May 1, 2007; the decision was made after an analysis of raw materials costs, which have continued to rise rapidly over the last two years.

February 28, 2007 – McKesson Corporation (MCK) recently announced the acquisition of Physician Micro Systems, Inc., known as Practice Partner, a provider of integrated software for electronic health records (EHRs), medical billing and appointment scheduling for independent physicians. The move is part of McKesson's overall strategy to automate the hospital, integrate physician offices through portals and drive interactive connectivity.
