International Medical Solutions (IMS) recently announced it will provide Google Cloud account users with the ability to upload, manage, distribute, view, annotate, save, download and delete their medical images in a secure environment. Similar to Google Drive, the IMS Cloud View will connect directly to any Google Cloud account and enable users to access full fidelity medical images with no installation required. The underlying U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared imaging technology also allows medical professionals to engage in interactive, web-based reviews, on any device using full fidelity DICOM images.

Breast imaging analytics company Densitas Inc. announced the signing of a new Alliance Partner Agreement with Blackford. This agreement gives Blackford the right to promote, market, sell, distribute and license densitasdensity directly via integration with the Blackford Platform. Work will now commence to integrate densitasdensity with the Blackford Platform. Densitas CEO Mohamed Abdolell said integrating with Blackford will shorten Densitas’ time to market and shorten the sales cycle.

Infinitt North America highlighted a range of healthcare information technology (IT) products and applications at the 2018 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting, Nov. 25-30 in Chicago. Key offerings included the Infinitt Healthcare platform vendor neutral archive (VNA), new features in Infinitt RIS/PACS (radiology information system/picture archiving and communication system), artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and advanced toolsets for clinical decision support and image analysis.

Early-stage breast cancer patients with cancer detected in a sentinel lymph node biopsy had comparable 10-year recurrence and survival rates following either axillary radiotherapy or axillary lymph node dissection, according to new data. The data from the randomized, phase III AMAROS clinical trial were presented at the 2018 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, held Dec. 4-8.

Enterprise imaging health information technology (IT) provider Dicom Systems Inc. announced a new joint deployment with clinical collaboration mobile app WinguMD for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, Fla. The collaboration will help Nicklaus Children’s better integrate clinical communications, particularly image sharing, over mobile platforms.

Materialise, in collaboration with Carestream Health, is developing a work-in-progress zero-footprint deployment of their pre-operative planning solution for orthopedists, leveraging Materialise’s OrthoView software. Thanks to enterprise-wide licensing and an enterprise imaging-integrated zero-footprint deployment, Materialise and Carestream will be able to give surgeons the freedom to plan procedures in a standard browser, eliminating the requirement for additional software.

Sigmascreening recently announced that more than 100,000 women have had mammography exams with the Sensitive Sigma Paddle to ensure optimum mammographic compressions. Sigmascreening showcased the technology at the 104th Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting, Nov. 25-30 in Chicago.

In stroke, time saved on imaging is time gained in the treatment window. The recently updated guidelines from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association expand the window of time for clinicians to treat stroke. The Gates Vascular Institute in Buffalo, N.Y., has begun using protocols like Neuro One on the Aquilion One/Genesis Edition computed tomography (CT) system from Canon Medical Systems USA Inc. combined with Vitrea's 4-D Neuro Perfusion software to adapt to the new guidelines.
