The High Performance Imaging release for Siemens’ ACUSON Sequoia echocardiography platform adds two new transducers to the system: the 9L4 Multi-D and the 17L5 HD. Multi-D array transducer technology provides uniform elevation focusing for improved contrast and spatial resolution.

The 17L5 HD transducer improves the vascular image detail, as well as overall resolution in imaging of the breast, small parts and complex masses. Its patent-pending ergonomic design allows users to easily grip the transducer in their palms, reducing hand strain while scanning.

ClickView Corp. will be demonstrating its latest release of CLICKVIEW 7i Reports for PACs, sending outbound reports to EMR/HIS/RIS in text and image formats via HL-7 and DICOM wrap.

Pegasus Imaging Corp. recently released its JPEG 2000 Part 2, an implementation for 3-D volumetric encoding within the PICTools MedX Software Development Kit (SDK), which slices volumetric encoding that supports 24-bit RGB and 8-16 bit grayscale medical images.

Neurostar’s VPM includes radiology reporting tools such as digital recording, Web-based transcription, custom structured report templates and voice recognition.

CoActiv Medical will highlight its new CoActiv ExamNet, an image management solution that reportedly enables greater efficiency and fully integrated workflow among all radiology group members. Combined with the capabilities of CoActiv EXAM-PACS, the ExamNet claims to provide an ultra-fast, easy-to-use, anywhere, any time image management solution, including image distribution, reading and archiving.

Empiric Systems recently reported that it is planning to release its Encompass.NET 5.0, the company’s latest Web-based, fully integrated, single database RIS/PACS/billing system, by summer 2007.
