May 17, 2007 - UltraRAD Corp. recently announced an agreement with StructuRad LLC to integrate StructuRad’s workflow management and advanced reporting capabilities into its UltraPACS application, available in June through UltraRAD and its distributors.

As part of the agreement, UltraRAD will bundle StructuRad’s StudyManager and ReportNow applications with UltraPACS as a complete viewing and reporting solution. The integration of StructuRad’s Rich Internet Application (RIA) reportedly delivers the robust user experience of a client-side application with UltraRAD’s web-based PACS.

May 16, 2007 - Scientific Vision Systems, a distributor of medical and professional video equipment, announced availability of the MediCap USB200 Digital Image Capture device, produced by MediCapture. The device, a desktop peripheral, allows users to simply plug in and capture video and still images from endoscopes, ultrasound machines, C-Arms, surgical microscopes and other medical imaging devices at the touch of a button or a footswitch. The images are captured on a USB flash memory drive and can be transferred to any Windows PC via any USB port.

May 16, 2007 — Synthetic Blood International Inc. announced positive data from a statistical analysis of its Phase IIa study with Oxycyte in patients with traumatic brain injury. In line with preliminary study results announced in December 2006, statistical results confirmed that the primary endpoint of increasing patients' oxygen tension levels compared with baseline was met.

May 16, 2007 — More than 450 people nationwide now claim they received illegally obtained and possibly diseased body parts from a New Jersey-based scheme, according to court documents.
The FDA has said it's concerned that the bone and tissue could be infected with the AIDS virus, syphilis and hepatitis, but the risk of infection is small.

The FDA, which did not return requests for comment, has not said whether any patients have ailments linked to the tissue, nor has it revealed how many people received it.
