MAY 9, 2007 - Data released in a poster at the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) annual meeting show that MR-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) is a more effective option for a broader population of uterine fibroid sufferers.
Phyllis Gee, M.D. of the North Texas Uterine Fibroid Institute in Plano, TX, presented the test results showing that women undergoing MRgFUS experience rapid and sustained relief from their condition and have a reduced need for alternative, invasive treatments in the future.

May 8, 2007 - Over the past three years, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has criticized HHS repeatedly for a chronic failure to set benchmarks by which it can measure the success or failure of its own activities.

Last Friday, the GAO took aim at HHS and the CMS and found they have failed to establish ways to gauge their own progress in promoting the use of healthcare information technology so that hospitals can do a better job of measuring and reporting the quality of care they provide to patients.

May 8, 2007 - Analogic Corp. and CAS Medical Systems Inc. announced today that they have signed an agreement granting worldwide exclusive rights to CAS Medical (CASMED) to market and sell Analogic's LIFEGARD family of non-invasive patient monitors.
