April 24, 2007 - Color Kinetics Inc. announced a global licensing agreement with TRUMPF GmbH Co. KG, a $2 billion German manufacturing company.

TRUMPF will license Color Kinetics' patents to offer the iLED surgical light, which combines intelligent microprocessor control with LEDs to produce variable color temperatures of light. The license will also apply to any future intelligent LED-based medical lights that TRUMPF may develop. The agreement marks Color Kinetics' first in the medical lighting field, and the first related specifically to white light applications.

April 24, 2007 - AADCO Medical Inc. has developed a new sterilized disposable surgical drape, X-drape, made from AADCO's proprietary non-leaded composite radiation absorbing material, "X-Ban"and works within the sterile field to significantly reduce dose from scatter radiation, up to 98 percent.

April 24, 2007 - GE Healthcare recently announced it has received clearance from the FDA for the company's next-generation volume PET/CT application, PET VCAR (Volume Computer-Assisted Reading), created to help clinicians diagnose, stage, treat and monitor tumors and other lesions in the body.

PET VCAR offers several workflow enhancements for both single- and multi-exam review, including exam-to-exam auto-registration, tumor segmentation and quantification, and multi-planar image review.

April 23, 2007 — IntelliDOT Corp. has announced the debut of the CAREt Vital Signs Collection (VSC) System, which electronically captures and documents patient vital signs at the point of care.

The CAREt VSC System allows the caregiver to document a patient's vital signs information. The vital signs product is designed to complement IntelliDOT's existing suite of patient safety solutions, allowing nurses to collect vital signs before, during or after the medication administration process.
