Double Black Imaging will feature its P-Series of LCDs that consist of a 2MP monochrome and color, a 3MP monochrome and color and a 5 MP monochrome and color LCD for mammography. The line will reportedly include higher brightness levels on each LCD, digital uniformity control, 12-Bit processing, a retractable front sensor for true DICOM calibration, a backlight sensor for luminance control and bonded protective panels. DBI will be bundling these LCDs with a high-speed graphic controller (PCI-X or PCI-e) as well as including X-CAL calibration software.

October 17, 2007 - NDS will showcase its newly FDA-cleared AXIS V display intended for mammography and similar high-resolution images, at RSNA 2007.

AXIS V can be used by radiologists for reading and interpreting digital mammograms. Designed specifically for use in digital mammography and PACS workstations, the AXIS V product reportedly features industry’s best ambient light adaptability and delivers the highest quality diagnostic image.

Candelis has integrated a Web-based RIS component to the ImageGrid PACS appliance to enhance imaging center workflow. ImageGrid RIS is capable of supporting all stages of radiology workflow through tools for flexible scheduling, according to the company.

Sorna Corp. will bring to RSNA its eXpedo XR1, reportedly the smallest automated DISC (CD/DVD) production system on the market. The system utilizes inkjet technology for printing directly on a DISC. To minimize space requirements, an LCD display and six-key keypad are integrated into the server, which fits directly on top of the robotics system, according to the commpany.

The XR1 is designed for imaging centers, outpatient clinics and small radiology departments.

Candelis will feature its ImageGrid 1000 archiving solution that is based on a DICOM and appliance architecture, ImageGrid reportedly speeds image access, simplifies management and protects patient images in a highly reliable, HIPAA-compliant server and archival system.

The ImageGrid product line is said to be ideal for imaging centers and small hospitals and provides archiving capacities ranging from 1 terabyte (TB) to tens of terabytes and is capable of receiving images directly from any DICOM modality.

Viatronix Inc. will release enhancements to its V3D-Colon including a Colon CAD interface that reportedly seamlessly integrates CAD without any change in workflow, automatic measurement of maximum diameter/volume of polyps with morphology analysis, new “translucent view” color schemes that are said to be user-editable and a creation of reports compliant with C-RAD guidelines.

ScImage will highlight features of its PicomEnterprise solution, a Web-based enterprise imaging solution that captures, stores, distributes and archives radiology and cardiology image exams from reportedly any DICOM and many non-DICOM devices.

With built-in visualization tools, PicomEnterprise renders images for cardiac CT, cardiac cath, echocardiography, stress echo and has digital subtraction angiography. Reporting tools include hemo dynamic reporting, plus stress and holter reporting from existing reporting solutions.

Emageon will feature its RadSuite Express, reportedly a low-cost PACS solution complete with advanced visualization and 3D capabilities tailored for small to mid-sized hospitals and clinics.
