Sorna Corp. will bring to RSNA its eXpedo XR1, reportedly the smallest automated DISC (CD/DVD) production system on the market. The system utilizes inkjet technology for printing directly on a DISC. To minimize space requirements, an LCD display and six-key keypad are integrated into the server, which fits directly on top of the robotics system, according to the commpany.

The PACS platform offers optional integrated applications such as image fusion, orthopedic surgical templating, 3D imaging and advanced cardiac features.

3mensio Medical Imaging’s 3viseon 3D imaging workstation reportedly allows the radiologist to quickly deliver accurate results to a wide array of medical specialists, such as cardiologists and surgeons, accommodating the increasing demand for 3D images to facilitate treatment planning.

October 18, 2007 - Hologic will demonstrate at RSNA 2007, its MammoSite, a targeted radiation therapy that works from the inside, meaning that a higher daily dose can be used for a shorter period of time, five days versus five to seven weeks.

Hologic’s R2 Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) solutions reportedly give users the most sophisticated pattern recognition software to help find cancers with greater certainty at an earlier stage.

R2 technology was the first CAD system approved by the FDA for film-based mammography in 1998 and for digital mammography in 2001, according to the commpany. It is reportedly estimated that more than ten million women had their mammograms interpreted with the aid of R2's CAD technology in the last 12 months.
