The recently released Hitachi Oasis reportedly features Hitachi's proprietary 1.2 Tesla vertical field magnet technology inclusive of high magnet homogeneity and higher order active shim, all in an open architecture magnet design that reportedly gives patients an unrestricted viewing angle.

The FDA cleared MRI system includes a high performance gradient system coupled with an 8-channel Radio Frequency (RF) system and Hitachi-designed RF coils, providing a platform for high performance imaging in a comfortable patient setting, according to the company.

The Aurora Imaging Technology 1.5T Dedicated Breast MRI System with Bilateral 3D SpiralRODEO is a fully integrated MRI system designed specifically for breast imaging.
The system creates an elliptical, homogenous field of view, providing coverage of both breasts, chest wall and axillae in a single bilateral scan, reportedly without compromise in contrast or resolution. Because of SpiralRODEO’s improved acquisition efficiency (Three times greater than traditional 3DFT reconstruction), resolution is reportedly increased along with a decrease in scan time for better dynamics.

The Signa HDx 3.0T’s XVRE volume-reconstruction engine ensures virtually real-time image generation. The XVRE is the enabler for new XV (expanded volume) Clinical Applications that utilize acceleration techniques such as ASSET and GEM. GEM is a hybrid acceleration technique that uses variable sampling to provide the fastest image acceleration.

Also featured at RSNA, GE Healthcare’s breast MRI portfolio includes VIBRANT, for bilateral imaging system, BREASE, for breast spectroscopy and 8-Channel Breast Array, with CADstream integration.

The MEDRAD Stellant CT Injection System provides saline flush capabilities and protocol options.

The DualFlow upgrade enables simultaneous injection of contrast and saline while the XDS detects the start of an extravasation by directly sensing contrast media pooling under the skin and automatically stopping injection until a clinician can examine the patient.

The Spectris Solaris EP MR Injection System, also featured at RSNA, promises enhanced power management performance through longer battery life and an Integrated Continuous Battery Charger (iCBC) option.

This emphasis has been implemented in the development of Oxilan, whose chemical characteristics have resulted in high quality imaging with minimal side effects, according to its manufacturer.

GE Healthcare’s’ VISIPAQUE has an osmolality equal to that of blood, and is also the only contrast medium formulated with sodium and calcium in a ratio equivalent to blood, according to GE.

The system is FDA approved for use in children over one year of age and is approved for a broad range of diagnostic procedures requiring intravascular contrast, such as coronary angiography, CT, IVP and venography.

The Hologic SecurView line of diagnostic and technologist workstations aim to support more confident diagnoses, save time and provide faster answers for patients.

SecurViewDX, Hologic’s diagnostic workstation can look at the image details and content for every procedure type and automatically hang the images in the order that users prefer. Because SecurViewDX allows users to change their workflow with drag and drop ease, SecurViewDX can create and store an unlimited number of hanging protocols for multiple radiologists without affecting a colleague’s settings.

SenoRx Inc. announced that it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its SenoSonix System, an integration of its EnCor breast biopsy system with a state-of-the-art ultrasound Imaging system, incorporating SenoRx's EnCor vacuum-assisted biopsy technologies with an ultrasound system developed and sold by Ultrasonix Medical Corporation of Canada.
