ONI's OrthOneXT is a high-field, high resolution, low cost, dedicated extremity MRI system suitable for both hospital and imaging center applications to decompress whole body backlogs.

Also featured, the MSK Extreme MRI is a high field, high resolution, low cost, dedicated extremity MRI system suitable for both hospital and imaging center applications to decompress whole body backlogs. The MSK Extreme with v-SPEC, provides high quality imaging of the hand, wrist, elbow, foot, ankle and knee.

SceptreP3 is a hybrid PET/CT system that integrates the “Power of Three” suite of differentiating capabilities. It features Dual Attenuation Correction (DAC Technology), the only solution that allows the combination of both CT and sealed source attenuation correction to effectively image patients with metal implants.

The Hitachi CXR 16 is a multislice CT scanner that reportedly combines power with ease-of-use and patient-friendly design. The X-ray generator delivers optimal power for high image quality, while the operator's console establishes an efficient environment for acquisition, reconstruction and post-processing.

ICRco Inc.’s iCR2600's patented design incorporates a true flat scan path, a precise scan mechanism, and protective cassettes to produce over 300,000 high resolution images per plate. iCRco imaging plates are fixed to a rigid back panel. Unlike most CR products, the iCR2600 uses no rollers to transport the plate across the scan head. A positive traction drive system ensures artifact free reproduction, according to the company.

At RSNA 2007 Siemens Medical Solutions will feature the AXIOM Aristos VX Plus, a single-detector radiography system with a 17 x 17-inch flat-panel digital detector.

The system combines a large format, tilting digital flat detector with a ceiling mount x-ray tube that are specifically designed to perform chest, skull and extremity examinations. It is reportedly highly flexible even for compact imaging rooms and is expandable to accommodate scoliotic spine and long leg examinations.

Cardinal Health launched a new technology to protect patients from blood transfusion errors in operating rooms, emergency departments and other critical care areas, where transfusions need to occur rapidly.
With the new Rapid Infusion feature, the CareFusion Transfusion Verification application can now accommodate transfusion workflow in any critical care environment. The maker says Rapid Infusion provides a systematic method of positive patient identification for matching blood components and efficient documentation, even during emergency situations.

Helping to reduce medication errors, patients prescribed Cefotetan for bacterial infections can now have the antibiotic delivered in a safe, ready-to-use IV drug delivery system by B. Braun Medical Inc.
Cefotetan is available in 1g and 2g in B.Braun’s DUPLEX Drug Delivery System. With a unique closed system design, the DUPLEX System helps ensure accurate dosage delivery and allows for room-temperature storage to decrease waste often associated with IV antibiotics.

Royal Philips Electronics recently released the IntelliVue MMS X2 and IntelliVue MP2, a new patient monitor and multimeasurement module that will help clinicians and first responders better focus on treating patients.

Arizant Healthcare Inc. introduced its solution for helping keep clinicians warm and comfortable, the Solor vest, at the 2007 American Society of Anesthesiologists annual meeting in San Francisco, Oct. 14-17.
