October 22, 2007 — Hologic Inc. and Aurora Imaging Technology Inc. have paired their products for MRI-guided breast biopsy to enable better access to those suspicious areas identified for diagnostic biopsy.

The Suros needle guide insert fits to the Aurora rotating needle guide arm, reportedly allowing for full compatibility of the Suros ATEC MRI breast biopsy device with the Aurora 1.5T Dedicated Breast MRI System.

With the addition of the Suros needle guide insert, physicians using the Aurora Dedicated Breast MRI system now have the capability to use Suros ATEC MRI breast biopsy devices with ease. Couple the fast, safe and easy use of Suros biopsy device with Aurora’s rotating needle guide arm, and physicians are able to reach challenging lesions identified using breast MRI – some that could not be reached before due to technology limitations, according to the manufacturer.
