December 1, 2007 – Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals previewed at RSNA 2007 VistaTrak, a password protected contrast media cabinet that tracks media stock using RFID labels.

The cabinet can be interfaced with an electronic medical record (EMR), PACS/RIS and billing system to access patient data. The company’s MAGNEVIST (gadopentetate dimeglumine) contrast agent will be the first product to carry the RFID tag in the VistaTrak cabinet.

The cabinet is also password protected and is only accessible by using either a coded badge or a pin code.

November 29, 2007 - Results of a clinical trial being conducted at Emory University Breast Clinic in Atlanta and presented at RSNA suggest that stereoscopic digital mammography, a new diagnostic technique capable of producing three-dimensional, in-depth views of breast tissue, could significantly reduce the number of women who are recalled for additional tests following routine screening mammography.

November 30, 2007 - According to a study presented at RSNA, an unprecedented increase in the use of radiologic exams on pregnant women has present in the past decade, finding that from 1997 to 2006, the number of imaging studies performed on pregnant women increased by 121 percent.
