Four recent radiology studies, from New York, Italy, Iran and China, show how COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) impacts the brain of some infected patients. Accumulating evidence suggests that a subgroup of patients with severe COVID-19 might have a cytokine storm syndrome which could be a trigger for ischemic strokes. Other abnormalities have also been found in COVID-19 patient brain imaging studies.

 

 

Flattening the curve. Slowing the spread. I have yet to read — or hear — anyone say we are trying to stop the coronavirus virus. To beat it. The closest has been a news commentator saying that if everyone stopped in their tracks, six feet apart from everyone else, the spread of the virus would end immediately.

June 2, 2020 — Early diagnosis of cancer is one of the highest-priority problem for the healthcare system, because it is critical for overall treatment success and saving patients' lives. Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI) may be used to detect a malignancy in various tissues and organs. It has the advantage of providing insight into the diffusion of water molecules in body tissues without exposing patients to radiation.

June 2, 2020 — Lunit announced that its artificial intelligence (AI) solution for breast cancer, Lunit INSIGHT MMG, has been CE certified. The medical software was certified on May 26, making it now commercially available across the European Economic Area, including 27 member countries of the European Union, United Kingdom, as well as the European Free Trade Association.
