Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. recently unveiled a new look and sound to MR imaging with the Visage MR, a receiver board with MRI-specific noise-reduction designed to improve signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) in MR images.

Medrad introduced at ASA in Chicago on Sunday, October 15, the Certo MR Wireless Network, a wireless network for magnetic resonance (MR) imaging designed to provide the flexibility to move freely both in the MRI suite and in the control room, using wireless-enabled equipment.
The Certo Network facilitates portability by enabling Medrad’s Veris MR Patient Monitor to be transported with the patient from the prep room, the scanner room and the recovery area, while displaying images on the monitor.

The IMPAX MA3000 Diagnostic Station reportedly improves mammography workflow through multimodality breast imaging displays. The station is DICOM compliant and supports rapid and simultaneous display of multimodality images.

Siemens has launched a new innovation in lithotripsy systems for urology called MODULARIS VarioStar, which is based on the MODULARIS platform.
The VarioStar head can be moved into undertable and overtable positions, and provides a high degree of angulation freedom for conventional and case-specific stone treatment. A rotating therapy head allows ureter stones to be disintegrated as the patient lies in a comfortable supine position. All network functions are designed on the system, including LithoReport for patient data management.

The Celestial Star MRI Surgical Light features MRI compatibility; improved flexibility and reach, and a space saving design that meets the demands of the MRI surgical suite. The light boasts drift-free balance arm design; unlimited positioning and optimal flexibility around the bore; and a 114-inch horizontal reach.
The light is certified by GE Healthcare and Siemens Medical Solutions for use with their MRI solutions. The National Institute of Health (NIH) has also installed the lights in the intraoperative MRI suite at their headquarters in Maryland.

MicroMaxx's purpose-built software and proprietary ASIC design yields high-quality images, while efficiently operating on either AC or battery power. The system boots up from “off” to scanning in under 15 seconds in a busy office, large hospital or critical care setting. This 7.7- pound device with a small footprint can get medical professionals into, and out of, tight spaces fast.

New technology for the Stellant D CT Injection System from MEDRAD is designed to improve timing for cardiac CT imaging. SmartFlow automatically suggests injection protocols by factoring in patient-specific parameters, which can be a time-consuming process if done manually.

With the Hermes Super Server, communications, applications and storage are all together in one comprehensive package with intentions of increasing efficiency and productivity for nuclear medicine, PET/CT, radiology and imaging departments. It can be integrated with any modality from any vendor.

Encompass.NET is a truly integrated, Web-based radiology management system built on Microsoft's .NET platform. The system comes complete with RIS, PACS and billing capabilities.

NightRays Tracker (NRT) is a color- coded, online, dynamic patient list that clinicians and radiologists can use to access status updates on their cases. NRT information includes images, study status, patient demographics and paperwork, study alerts, reporting accuracy and more. Through this system, NightRays clients can also run stats at anytime on after-hours radiology activities. Clients can use as little or as much of it as they want. Radiologist clients of NightRays have the opportunity to use the same system the radiologists use for their own work.
