Kodak will show enhancements to a dosimetry package for the 2000RT CR plus system for radiation oncology. This optional feature allows physicists to perform a range of beam and IMRT QA procedures along with the 2000RT’s ability to capture portal localization, verification and simulation images.

The Sinmed Mastercouch consists of a base that replaces most existing treatment couches. The base is then extended with a treatment module, dedicated to a specific treatment area.

Varian Medical Systems’ exhibit at the 2006 ASTRO meeting will focus on the clinical deployment of the company’s technology for advanced radiotherapy, with a special emphasis on the On-Board Imager (OBI) device for image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT). The Virtua Medical Disc Publisher is a network-based CD/DVD publisher that automatically records and labels patient studies. It can be used in combination with Codonics’ multimedia imagers, which gives radiology groups a complete solution for all image distribution needs including film, color paper, grayscale paper, CD and DVD.
The Virtua takes up only two feet of counter space and can offload disc recording from the modality and PACS workstations so that patients can be processed without interruption to the workflow.

Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. will showcase its Aquilion Large Bore (LB) at this year’s ASTRO Meeting. With a bore opening of 90 cm and a 70 cm acquired field-of-view, the Aquilion LB makes it possible to accurately scan patients of all sizes in various positions for image acquisition during CT simulation.

Intelerad Medical Systems Inc. has announced the release of InteleViewer Workstation, a DICOM workstation software product for diagnostic reading.
The workstation reportedly allows the user to DICOM query/retrieve from multiple sources: PACS, modalities or other DICOM devices. The workstation also allows images to be imported from CD for viewing or sending to another DICOM device.

The Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion provides a radiosurgical platform for refinement and expansion of procedures in the brain, cervical spine and head and neck regions.
The new introduction from Elekta is unlike its predecessors as the Leksell allows for increased treatable volume and is estimated to increase the number of patients that benefit from gamma knife surgery by up to 40 percent.

The GS510-G, a glare panel, and the GS510, an antiglare panel, both offer high-fidelity images to detect hard-to-see calcifications and masses, which can be valuable in digital mammography.

Siemens’ syngo LungCARE CT with NEV technology features nodule enhanced viewing (NEV), a second reader tool based on highly sensitive and clinically validated algorithms. It is designed to improve visualization and workflow by providing automatic segmentation of physician detected nodules, multiple viewing options for questionable areas and customized reporting options.
