Two-Pin Indexing Improves Patient Setup

CIVCO Medical Solutions has expanded its offering of Indexed Patient Positioning System (IPPS) compatible with positioning and fixation accessories. Now all SINMED branded products such as the Combifix and Thorawedge are IPPS compatible, expanding the number of treatment options available for the two-pin indexing system.
IPPS allows clinicians to quickly and accurately locate and lock down a patient positioning device from imaging through treatment, and from treatment to treatment. Whether providing conventional radiotherapy, 3-D Conformal or IMRT treatments, accurate and reproducible patient positioning and fixation are important factors for precise dose delivery. Using two-pin compatible products can enhance patient setup and decrease setup time, by efficiently locking down a patient positioning device.
