Sony Electronics showed a range of imagers designed to bring enhanced versatility and cost-effectiveness to its comprehensive printer lineup.
On display at SNM were the UP-D77MD model color dye-sublimation DICOM imager, with 300-dpi letter size output. It is designed to support a full range of modalities that call for high-quality color printing, including PET/CT and other nuclear medicine modalities. The 8 x 10-inch color printer produces high-quality, smudge-free images for referring physicians and patient records.

Researchers did just that, releasing their findings at SNM’s 54th Annual Meeting June 2–6 in Washington, D.C. SNM is the world’s largest society for molecular imaging and nuclear medicine professionals.

June 5, 2007 - UltraRAD Corp. announced that is has signed an agreement with StructuRad LLC to integrate StructuRad’s workflow management and advanced reporting capabilities into its industry leading UltraPACS application to offer a complete viewing and reporting solution.
UltraRAD will bundle StructuRad’s StudyManager and ReportNow applications with its PACS and integrate StructuRad’s web-based PACS. The new offering became available in June 2007.

June 5, 2007 - GVI Medical Devices, Inc., extended its nuclear cardiology line with the introduction of ClearVision SPECT imaging system, designed to offer cost-effective diagnostic cardiac imaging.

June 5, 2007 - SNM debuted its new look and new outlook by rebranding the society to reflect the society’s core mission to improve healthcare by advancing molecular imaging and therapy.
The rebranding included development of two newly designed Web sites and a new society logo. “We have have created a unified organizational identity – a new look and outlook – to better reflect a society that is vital, credible, collaborative, influential and evolving,” said Virginia Pappas, SNM’s CEO.

June 5, 2007 - Numa introduced at SNM a range of services for the migration of data on legacy removable media to online DVD, RAID, PC hard drives and related PACS archive storage.
The ability to provide images online is becoming increasingly crucial as nuclear medicine and PET/CT departments move towards greater integration with mainstream radiology and as comprehensive image access across medical specialties becomes the norm.

June 5, 2007 - IBA Molecular announced the launch of www.getaPETscan.com, a new patient-focused Web Site that aims to educate the general population on PET imaging.
The company says that its goal is to help patients learn about procedures as significant as PET imaging. Additionally, users can locate facilities where they can get a PET scan.
