June 8, 2007— Tri-anim Health Service, Inc. and VersaMed Medical Systems, Inc., a global manufacturer of critical care ventilators announced today that they have signed an exclusive distribution agreement. This new agreement covers sales of the iVent201 ventilator in the Short and Long Term Acute Care market, including the iVent201 model uniquely developed for the nation's disaster preparedness requirements.

June 8, 2007 – According to an Australian study released during the 54th Annual Meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine (SNM), an advanced molecular imaging technique has influenced the management of women with ovarian cancer, detected more site of disease and identified women whose disease was likely to progress.

The study shows that positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) imaging is a better test for patients with suspected recurrent ovarian cancer and is the preferred imaging technique.

June 7, 2007 - Robots may soon be coming to your town, and your hospital. According to The International Journal of Medical Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery, robots that perform surgery can be driven by surgeons who no longer stand by the patient, but direct the operation from a computer console.

In most cases the surgeon is seated at a console within the theatre, only a few feet away from the patient. Now a team of surgeons and scientists have shown that the surgeon and robot can be linked via a 4,000 mile Internet connection or by satellite.
