June 5, 2007 - Moving from computer simulation to patient images, researchers are now demonstrating the benefits that time-of-flight (TOF)/PET imaging can provide for cancer patients. The result? Superior images and shorter patient scan times for starters, according to a study released at the 54th Annual Meeting of SNM, the world’s largest society for molecular imaging and nuclear medicine professionals, June 2–6 in Washington, D.C.

June 5, 2007 - Naviscan took the stage at SNM to showcase the PEM Flex Solo II, an organ specific, high resolution PET scanner for breast cancer detection using positron emission mammography (PEM).

June 5, 2007 - UltraRAD Corp. announced that is has signed an agreement with StructuRad LLC to integrate StructuRad’s workflow management and advanced reporting capabilities into its industry leading UltraPACS application to offer a complete viewing and reporting solution.
UltraRAD will bundle StructuRad’s StudyManager and ReportNow applications with its PACS and integrate StructuRad’s web-based PACS. The new offering became available in June 2007.

June 5, 2007 - GVI Medical Devices, Inc., extended its nuclear cardiology line with the introduction of ClearVision SPECT imaging system, designed to offer cost-effective diagnostic cardiac imaging.

June 5, 2007 - SNM debuted its new look and new outlook by rebranding the society to reflect the society’s core mission to improve healthcare by advancing molecular imaging and therapy.
The rebranding included development of two newly designed Web sites and a new society logo. “We have have created a unified organizational identity – a new look and outlook – to better reflect a society that is vital, credible, collaborative, influential and evolving,” said Virginia Pappas, SNM’s CEO.

June 5, 2007 - Numa introduced at SNM a range of services for the migration of data on legacy removable media to online DVD, RAID, PC hard drives and related PACS archive storage.
The ability to provide images online is becoming increasingly crucial as nuclear medicine and PET/CT departments move towards greater integration with mainstream radiology and as comprehensive image access across medical specialties becomes the norm.

June 5, 2007 - IBA Molecular announced the launch of www.getaPETscan.com, a new patient-focused Web Site that aims to educate the general population on PET imaging.
The company says that its goal is to help patients learn about procedures as significant as PET imaging. Additionally, users can locate facilities where they can get a PET scan.

June 5, 2007 - Codonics announced at SNM that it will soon be shipping the Virtua XR, a medical disc publisher that is now five times faster than its predecessor.
The Virtua XR is a DICOM-compliant networtk appliance that can conscurrently record and label multiple medical studies onto CD and DVD media. Its compact design includes an embedded processor, robotic disc handling and a touch-screen interface designed to optimize workflow and productivity. A built-in printer produces full-color disc labels that can by the user or through Codonics’ label design service.

June 5, 2007 - GE Healthcare introduced at SNM a new application for performing PET image generation, called VUE Point, designed to improve small lesion detectability and exam productivity.
VUE Point incorporates advanced proprietary image reconstruction algorithms, including volume scatter correction and a patented image projection technique, and is enabled by the Volume CT reconstruction technology development. VUE Point is applicable to both 2-D and 3-D PET acquisition modes, static, dynamic and motion imaging.

June 5, 2007 - Siemens Medical Solutions Molecular Imaging division demonstrated three new syngo software packages, TrueD, Circulation and Scenium for improved workflows in radiology, neurology, radiation oncology and general molecular imaging departments.
