November 1, 2007– Accuray Inc. introduced at ASTRO 2007 the Sequential Optimization feature, an optimization capability that will now be available as a software option for the MultiPlan Treatment Planning System, reportedly allowing users to optimize their treatment objectives based on each unique clinical situation using prioritized clinical objectives, instead of the traditional trial and error setting of various constraints to narrow in on an optimized treatment.

November 1, 2007 - Philips brought to ASTRO 2007 its Brilliance CT Big Bore system designed specifically for radiation oncology and provides image quality, accuracy and workflow efficiency, while facilitating shorter exam times for patients.

October 31, 2007 - GE Healthcare brought to ASTRO 2007 its next-generation volume PET/CT application PET VCAR that reportedly complements GE’s approach to personal patient management and the need to assess each patient individually.

November 1, 2007 - NightHawk Radiology Holdings Inc. today announced financial results for its third quarter, with a revenue growth of 79 percent year-over-year to a record $45.2 million in the third quarter of 2007 from $25.2 million in the third quarter of 2006.

November 1, 2007 - TeraRecon, a provider of advanced visualization solutions, received the Frost & Sullivan 2007 Market Penetration Leadership Award for “delivering tremendous financial performance and gaining market share year after year,” said the announcement from Frost and Sullivan (F&S).

November 1, 2007 - Array Corp. signed a continued partnership with Hologic, a developer, manufacturer and supplier of premium diagnostic and medical imaging systems dedicated to women’s healthcare.

In 1998 the two companies merged under the name of Array. The Corporation has expanded to offer custom software development and connectivity solutions.

Hologic’s core business focuses on osteoporosis assessment, mammography and breast biopsy, direct-to-digital X-ray for general radiography applications and mini C-arm imaging for orthopedic applications.

November 1, 2007 - American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) Trustees announced that it held its first board meeting on September 21, 2007, and elected officers to various positions.

The ABII Board of Trustees is comprised of three appointees from the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM), three others appointed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and one public member (yet to be named) who is not employed in the field of imaging informatics.
