November 9, 2007 - Matrox Graphics announced that Cedara Software is using Matrox 10-bit MED Series display controller boards to develop a 10-bit version of the Cedara I-ReadMammo 6.2 mammography software.

Cedara's work-in-progress 10-bit I-ReadMammo application will reportedly be able to display images with up to 1,024 simultaneous levels of gray, when combined with a Matrox 10-bit board and 10-bit displays. This feature aims to provide medical professionals with a more detailed image for more accurate diagnoses.

November 8, 2007 - Vapotherm, a developer and manufacturer of high flow oxygen therapy products, recently earned an Export Achievement Certificate from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Vapotherm was one of three Maryland companies to receive this designation at a recent ceremony in Wye Mills, MD. The Export Achievement Certificate was created by the U.S. Department of Commerce to recognize small and medium-sized enterprises that have successfully entered the international marketplace for the first time, or have successfully entered a new market.

November 8, 2007 - Payments for emergency department services declined for all patients over an eight-year period, with Medicaid paying less overall than uninsured patients do, according to a study which appears today in the Annals of Emergency Medicine ("Decreasing Reimbursements for Outpatient Emergency Department Visits Across Payer Groups from 1996-2004").
