DynaCAD by Invivo is a digital imaging workstation coupled with computer-aided detection (CAD) tools for performing real-time image analysis and interventional procedure planning. DynaCAD provides radiologists with a comprehensive solution for significantly improved workflow and increased diagnostic confidence, the company says.

Image Analysis’ N-Vivo System for phantom-calibrated Coronary and Aortic (Calcium) Scoring and QCT Bone Mineral Analysis (Densitometry) now includes optional longer calibration phantoms that can be used for cardiac scoring, aorta scoring and BMD in the hip and spine without patient repositioning. The new Coronary Artery Score and Aortic Score software is highly automated, fast and reproducible, the company says, and both provide calcium and mass score.

iCAD Inc. will unveil its latest CAD innovations at RSNA 2007, including version 8.1 of SecondLook for digital mammography, and will highlight SecondLook Digital’s compatibility with Full-Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) and Computed Radiography (CR) solutions. The company will also feature its in-development CAD applications for 3-D mammography and CT colonography.

ICAD’s CAD solutions are for both film-based and digital mammography systems and are based on an algorithm that automatically identifies and marks areas typically associated with cancer.

The Dilon 6800 Gamma Camera, optimized for molecular breast imaging, boasts Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI) as a complement to mammography for early detection of breast cancer.

ViewBox Mammo from Connect Imaging allows radiologists to view mammography screening and diagnostic digital studies, and ultrasound and MRI images on one workstation.

A new conversion kit allows users to upgrade their existing Rolloscope M and ML from an analog viewer to an analog/ digital workstation. This Upgrade kit entails a change to the desktop features of your existing Rolloscope M or ML viewer and allows space for insertion of the monitors for your PACS systems.

Broadwest’s Rollux D for Mammography requires no digitizing file rooms and provides auto-masking with one button or footswitch to allow reading without mechanical distractions. Transmitted light around films is minimized by auto-dimming and masking.

Apollo Medical Imaging Technology’s MIStar multipurpose software reportedly combines a broad spectrum of advanced functionalities including CT/MR/NM Perfusion, Diffusion Tensor Fiber Tractography, multimodality Volume Fusion, 3D visualization and analysis along with multimodality solutions. Desktop and laptop PCs running Windows 2000/XP can reportedly directly query and retrieve images over the network at the click of a button.

AFP Imaging’s NewTom 3G is an in-office cone-beam CT designed for otolaryngology. The scanner can acquire 360 X-rays in only 36 seconds, and produces — with the aid of primary reconstruction software — a 3D database of the patient’s maxillofacial anatomy.

Designed for the detection, diagnosis and characterization of breast cancer, the SoftScan optical imaging device from Advanced Research Technologies provides functional or physiological information about a lesion, such as tissue perfusion and blood oxygen content, which the company says allows characterization of a lesion as benign or malignant.

Use of the device does not involve painful compression of the breast or ionizing radiation. It can image women with dense breast tissue or who have undergone hormonal therapy, and reportedly reduces the need for painful biopsies.
