November 1, 2007 - Array Corp. signed a continued partnership with Hologic, a developer, manufacturer and supplier of premium diagnostic and medical imaging systems dedicated to women’s healthcare.

In 1998 the two companies merged under the name of Array. The Corporation has expanded to offer custom software development and connectivity solutions.

Hologic’s core business focuses on osteoporosis assessment, mammography and breast biopsy, direct-to-digital X-ray for general radiography applications and mini C-arm imaging for orthopedic applications.

November 1, 2007 - American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) Trustees announced that it held its first board meeting on September 21, 2007, and elected officers to various positions.

The ABII Board of Trustees is comprised of three appointees from the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM), three others appointed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and one public member (yet to be named) who is not employed in the field of imaging informatics.

DynaCAD provides radiologists with a comprehensive solution for significantly improved workflow and increased diagnostic confidence, the company says.

Image Analysis’ N-Vivo System for phantom-calibrated Coronary and Aortic (Calcium) Scoring and QCT Bone Mineral Analysis (Densitometry) now includes optional longer calibration phantoms that can be used for cardiac scoring, aorta scoring and BMD in the hip and spine without patient repositioning. The new Coronary Artery Score and Aortic Score software is highly automated, fast and reproducible, the company says, and both provide calcium and mass score.

iCAD Inc. will unveil its latest CAD innovations at RSNA 2007, including version 8.1 of SecondLook for digital mammography, and will highlight SecondLook Digital’s compatibility with Full-Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) and Computed Radiography (CR) solutions. The company will also feature its in-development CAD applications for 3-D mammography and CT colonography.

ICAD’s CAD solutions are for both film-based and digital mammography systems and are based on an algorithm that automatically identifies and marks areas typically associated with cancer.

The Dilon 6800 Gamma Camera, optimized for molecular breast imaging, boasts Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI) as a complement to mammography for early detection of breast cancer.
