CoActiv EXAM-NET, a suite of digital communications products and services designed to optimize the capabilities of teleradiology groups and other radiologists who work in multiple locations, will be featured at SIIM 2008.

EXAM-NET aims for fast, anywhere, any time access to images to provide greater efficiency and fully integrated workflow among all radiology group members, wherever located. Combined with the CoActiv EXAM-PACS, it offers location-free image management including image distribution, reading and archiving.

Voyager PACS, which will be featured at SIIM 2008, is a Web-enabled, server-based PACS that reportedly provides medical images of any patient to any doctor, anytime, anywhere.

Philips launched its new USB Smart Key, a tool that allows dictation software licenses to be uploaded to reportedly any computer to replace dongles and offer more flexibility.

With this tool, Philips replaces current dongles and older security codes that had to be manually typed in. The USB Smart Key is now packaged with Philips SpeechExec Pro Dictate and Philips SpeechExec Pro Transcribe, as well as Transcribe software packages.

April 2, 2008 – Patient-monitoring company Fukuda Denshi USA Inc. announced an agreement Monday at the 2008 AORN conference with iSirona LLC to offer iSirona’s device connectivity solution DeviceConX to Fukuda Denshi customers.

The companies said the agreement will enable Fukuda Denshi customers to improve nursing productivity and reduce medical errors by integrating data from Fukuda Denshi bedside patient monitors and central stations directly to their hospital or clinical information system (HIS/CIS) via HL7.
