IMSI will showcase a new version of imsiRIS that includes a master database and a control center for devices, procedures and services. Patient reports are dictated using voice recognition and structured reporting, and may be transmitted to remote or local typists. The billing module allows for invoicing and accounts receivable management or interfacing to an outside billing service. Flexible statistical reports summarize all RIS activities, said the company.

The ProVision Workstation is designed to streamline radiology workflow through its one-click access of the Cerner Multimedia Foundation, a single repository for all types of images across multiple care venues.

The system is part of Cerner’s suite of radiology solutions including Integrated Digital Dictation and ProVision Web for integration with the electronic medical record.

Siemens will showcase its computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) system syngo TrueD, which was designed for oncology, supporting PET/ CT, SPECT/CT as well as CT or MR fused with PET or SPECT. The syngo TrueD was designed to allow physicians to compare patient scans from different time points (such as pre- and post-therapy) and provide advanced image analysis and comparison.

Imaging Dynamics Company (IDC) will feature its IDC X-Series CCD-based imaging detectors: X3G, X3C and X4C, which reportedly are alternatives to traditional film-based X-rays. The technology features higher sensitivity and amplified dynamic range, anti-blooming for image quality, lateral overflow drain, and enhanced soft tissue imaging, said IDC.

FUJIFILM’s Synapse 3.2.1 software, an extension of version 3.2, with a new Graphic User Interface (GUI), will be featured at SIIM 2008. GUI changes include increased use of color to help identify changes in information on the display, new icons and a contrast scheme designed for radiology viewing conditions. The software also includes quadrant zooming and common frame of reference (CFOR) navigation, allowing for window/leveling, zooming and mirror panning of linked images for full field digital mammography.

April 3, 2008 – Imaging Dynamics Company Ltd. (IDC) said that Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital (SPMH) in Kerrville, TX has chosen IDC’s X1590 and X2200 direct digital radiography systems for its new, expanded medical facility.

After an evaluation process, the hospital chose IDC for its system reliability, image quality and processing efficiency. SPMH is located in “the hill country,” a rural area approximately 60 miles from San Antonio, TX and the hospital has been an IDC customer for more than three years.
