April 1, 2008 - Physio-Control featured its LifePak 12 Defibrillator/Monitor, a multi-parameter device combining semi-automated and manual defibrillation with capnography, external pacing, 12-lead electrocardiology, at ACC 2008.

The unit is available with ADAPTIV biphasic technology and comes with a choice of standard, pediatric and/or sterlizable internal and external paddles. It’s compatible with QUIK-COMBO pacing/defibrillation/ECG electrodes.

March 31, 2008 – At ACC 2008, GE Healthcare launched its new mobile Vivid S5 cardiovascular ultrasound system, created for multiple care areas, featuring a full sized 17-inch LCD monitor, four active transducer connectors and room for on-board peripherals retained in a miniaturized console weighing less than 160 pounds.

March 31, 2008 – Toshiba featured its AquilionONE at ACC 2008, an advanced diagnostic imaging system that can image an entire organ in a single rotation or over multiple rotations, showing real-time dynamic movement. With this system, it is possible to image an entire organ in a single rotation, for the first time, ensuring greater accuracy and diagnostic confidence and covering up to 16 centimeters of anatomy using 320 ultra high resolution 0.5-millimeter detector elements.

Philips brought to ACC its Xper Information Management, a personalized cardiovascular workflow solution that presents a variety of new features for reporting, image review, scheduling, inventory and intelligent data management.

With Artida's real-time multi-planar reformatting capabilities, physicians should be able to quantify global and regional LV function, including LV ejection fraction, volume and severity of regurgitation. Arbitrary views of the heart not available in 2D imaging are also obtained that can help with surgical planning.
