Philips Healthcare last week issued a proactive advisory warning to its iSite and IntelliSpace picture archiving and communication system (PACS) customers of potential security vulnerabilities in the products. The company cautioned that while it has received no reports of patient harm, the vulnerabilities in question could impact or potentially compromise patient confidentiality, system integrity and/or system availability.

Dicom Systems Inc. recently announced it has deployed its flagship Workflow Unifier platform at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in Moshi, Tanzania. The training videos have been integrated in Volpara’s VolparaEnterprise software that provides a comprehensive assessment of image quality on every screening mammogram.

Researchers have developed a new imaging agent that could help guide and assess treatments for people with various neurological diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis. The agent, which is used in positron emission tomography (PET) scans, targets receptors in nerve cells in the brain that are involved in learning and memory. The study is featured in the April issue of The Journal of Nuclear Medicine.
