October 31, 2007 - RIS Concepts recently announced that San Sebastian Radiology, a multimodality imaging center and teleradiology group in Puerto Rico, has chosen the company’s Radiologist RAD-RIS to facilitate exam tracking and reporting, while providing integrated voice recognition templates and RAD Speak voice command macro software.

October 31, 2007 - Rcadia Medical Imaging Ltd. announced the first installation of its COR Analyzer at St. James Healthcare in Butte, MT, reportedly allowing the hospital to perform automatic segmentation and tracking of the coronary artery tree for Coronary CT angiogram (CTA) procedures without human intervention.

Fujifilm Medical Systems USA will feature its digital mammography system, Fuji Computed Radiography for Mammography (FCRm), at RSNA 2007.

October 31, 2007 - Matrox Graphics Inc. recently announced that S-CAPE, a provider of medical imaging viewing systems, has chosen the company for the integration of multiconsole monitor systems for the OR, bundling Matrox Equinox graphics extension units with its image viewers.

Housed in a hygienic casing, S-CAPE's image viewer reportedly allows medical imaging professionals to view patient images within an operating room without compromising safety or viewing flexibility.

October 30, 2007 - Bracco Diagnostics, the subsidiary of contrast media developer Bracco Imaging, will acquire E-Z-EM at $21 a share for an estimated total of $241 million.

Independent members of E-Z-EM's board of directors have approved the agreement as well as a group of E-Z-EM stockholders, who represent approximately 34 percent of E-Z-EM’s outstanding shares.

October 30, 2007 - According to a study presented at the Plenary I session on Oct. 29, 2007, at the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) 49th Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, CA, a new method to standardize the reporting of radiation dose volumes in the use of four-dimensional computed tomography (4D-CT) can lead to a more accurate radiation dose to the lungs in lung cancers, thereby lowering the risk of lung injury.
