October 26, 2007 - Medical Intelligence, part of the Elekta Group, will display the HexaPOD evo RT System, reportedly the next generation of robotic patient-positioning platforms, with six degrees of freedom, at ASTRO, Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, 2007.

The HexaPOD evo CouchTop reportedly incorporates all the well-known features of the precursor HexaPOD Couchtop, with greatly improved patient access and clearance aperture.

October 26, 2007 - RamSoft will demonstrate at ASTRO 2007 version 4.5 of the PowerServer PACS, introducing many new features specifically aimed at improving ambulatory, acute, mobile X-ray and teleradiology practices.

Major new features include an advanced dictation and transcription created for fast and simple reporting with customizable macros, study bookmaking that allows for switching between studies without loss of productivity and Windows Vista compatibility.

October 26, 2007 - Philips will highlight its exclusive Tumor Localization (Tumor LOC) application that allows radiation oncology departments to localize target volumes for radiation therapy planning, at ASTRO, Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, 2007.

Designed for fast and simple CT tumor volume localization, the application includes exclusive features for viewing Respiratory Correlated CT datasets and analyzing motion of the target and surrounding anatomy.

October 26, 2007 - NOMOS Radiation Oncology, a division of North American Scientific, will bring to ASTRO 2007 its BATCAM Multi-probe, a new IGRT solution that received FDA 510(k) approval on July 11, 2007.

The BATCAM Multi-probe integrates a new multi-probe capable ultrasound system into the company's core IGRT product, BATCAM. The new system features an updated abdominal ultrasound probe featuring color doppler ultrasound, enabling IGRT for liver and pancreas treatments in addition to prostate and gynecology.

October 26, 2007 - Hologic will bring to ASTRO 2007 the Fluoroscan InSight mini C-arm that works to combine maneuverability, ultra-fine fluoroscopy images and automated adjustments, aiming to deliver the optimum image every time, for every patient.

The C-arm is said to deliver high resolution, low dose images with a surgeon-friendly user interface and unlimited flexibility. According to the company, the advanced degree of automation incorporated into the system means surgeons can stay focused on procedures, rather than instrumentation and adjustments.

October 26, 2007 - Global Dosimetry Solutions Inc., a division of Mirion Technologies, will showcase its copper doped quartz fiber in vivo dosimeter. The dosimeter provides a real-time assessment of tissue exposure to radiation during radiodiagnostic and radiotherapeutic procedures.

October 26, 2007 - Double Black Imaging will announce the release of their new P-Series line of LCDs at this year’s RSNA show. The P-Series of LCDs will consist of a 2MP Monochrome and Color, a 3MP Monochrome and Color and a 5MP Monochrome LCD for Mammography.

October 26, 2007 - Siemens will showcase its CTVision, previously marketed under the name PRIMATOM, which reportedly brings advanced image guidance to radiation treatment delivery by integrating a linear accelerator and a CT gantry that travels along rails (CT-on-rails), allowing for diagnostic imaging of the patient on the treatment table, at ASTRO, Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, 2007.

This approach allows direct comparison of daily patient anatomy to the original planning data, opening up opportunities to implement benchmark concepts such as daily replanning, according to the company.

October 26, 2007 - Codonics will display their multimedia solution that reportedly gives hospitals and imaging centers a way to provide professional patient consultation tools to their referring physicians and market their practice, at ASTRO, Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, 2007.
