November 21, 2007 - Merge Healthcare will introduce at RSNA 2007 a new teleradiology software application designed to improve technology to support the complex final read business, Merge TeleRead, and a new service offering, Consult PreRead, a consulting service designed to provide a preliminary report of a medical imaging study, producing a detailed report that a U.S. radiologist may consult and utilize to prepare an official final diagnostic report.

Philips Step & Shoot Cardiac has reportedly been shown to save up to 80 percent of the dose in a cardiac exam. As the newest cardiac imaging innovation for the Philips Brilliance CT 64-channel scanner, it provides high quality CT images at low radiation dose. An axial prospective ECG-gated acquisition technique reportedly achieves full heart coverage within a short breath-hold. According to Philips, it is ideally suited for patients where low radiation dose is needed.

November 20, 2007 - Amicas Inc. will demonstrate at RSNA 2007 a comprehensive solution suite designed to "close the loop" in radiology communications, including RadStream, a PACS which reportedly reduces medical/legal risk by automating and documenting critical results communications.

RadStream also automates the prioritization of imaging exams based on a "most likely to interrupt" method, which has been shown to dramatically increase radiologist productivity.

Radlink Inc. will introduce at RSNA 2007 three CR Pro machines, including the CR Pro 2000, designed for the OEM market.. The CR Pro 2000 features a Computed Radiography (CR) reader created with two markets in mind: the OEM market, for use as a CR appliance with digital radiography, as well as distributed applications for end users with smaller budgets. The CR Pro 2000 has an upgrade path that provides all of the capabilities of the entire Radlink family of imaging systems.
