November 26, 2007 – Philips announced that its 256-slice Brilliance iCT scanner is now commercially available, providing 8 centimeters of coverage, covering the entire heart in two scans and including a rotation speed of 0.27 seconds with 120 kw of power.

The Brilliance iCT scanner, now four times more powerful than a 64-slice CT, allows radiologists to produce high-quality images with exceptional acquisition speed, including complete coverage of the heart and brain, while incorporating Philips technology that has reduced radiation doses by up to 80 percent.

November 26, 2007 - Siemens Medical Solutions introduced two new MRI systems at RSNA 2007, the MAGNETOM Essenza, featuring 30 mT/m gradients, reportedly delivering excellent image quality for all clinical applications, and the MAGNETOM Verio, which combines image quality at 3T field strength and a 70-centimeter open bore that aims to offer exceptional patient comfort in one solution.

November 26, 2007 - Siemens Medical Solutions unveiled at RSNA 2007 the ACUSON S2000 ultrasound platform, the first system in Siemens' new S Class of ultrasound products, which features capabilities for paradigm-shifting applications such as Acoustic Radiation Forced Impulse (ARFI)* imaging and is prepared to integrate Silicon Ultrasound technology.

November 26, 2007 - RamSoft and StructuRad announced that PowerServer PACS users will have MacroLive as an add-on macro reporting feature, available early 2008. The ASP-based subscription service for PowerServer PACS is on exhibit in the RamSoft booth, #4303. The service reportedly will allow a user to access the StructuRad 7,000 macro library from within PowerServer PACS to quickly create and store a report.

November 26, 2007 - American Medical Sales Inc. introduced a new feature for its Catella PACS, Educate MeT, a series of one to two minute computer-based video clips that instruct users on key features of the company’s PACS solutions, at RSNA 2007.

Educate Me was created from AMS' review of its advanced CRM service system, in order to minimize service issues. By mining the service data base, AMS has developed products, added features and now developed Educate Me to answer common customer questions.

November 26, 2007 - Composiflex, a global supplier of medical composite products, has expanded its manufacturing and design capabilities to produce patient positioning systems that are well suited for use with MRI diagnostic technology. The large majority of composite patient positioning products in the market today are manufactured using carbon fiber, which is applicable for use with CT scan and X-ray technologies, but not with MRI equipment.
