November 27, 2007 – Fujifilm Medical Systems USA partnered with Hitachi to introduce at RSNA 2007 the FCR Go portable digital X-ray system, integrating Fujifilm's FCR Carbon XL CR reader and a notebook version of the Flash IIP console with the Hitachi portable, reportedly providing image availability in 23 seconds.

November 27, 2007 - Medrad Inc. displayed at RSNA 2007 “CT Contrast Injection of the Future,” an exhibit about the leading role of contrast injection in CT imaging, as well as patient safety, patient-specific protocol optimization and workflow and data integration innovations that are in development by the company.

Medrad also highlighted advancements made to its Stellant CT Injection System, featuring the DualFlow simultaneous injection and scanner-injector interface technology, as well as two new additions: CardiacFlow powered by P3TTM and XDSTM Extravasation Detector.

November 27, 2007 - GE Healthcare announced at RSNA 2007 it will incorporate High-Definition (HD) technology in its next generation of computed tomography (CT) scanners, which will increase spatial resolution by 30 percent, will acquire images 100 times faster than dual source technology currently in the marketplace and lower dose by 50 percent across the entire body.

November 27, 2007 - Carestream Health Inc. announced at RSNA an agreement to integrate and sell a key component of the IBM Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC) platform — IBM Lotus Sametime. The combination of Lotus Sametime software and Carestream Health’s radiology solutions is intended to facilitate rapid communication, including instant messaging and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) interactions between radiologists and other medical professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

November 27, 2007 - Medical imaging software maker Merge Healthcare announced its teleradiology division was awarded the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval by demonstrating compliance with the commission’s national standard for healthcare quality and safety.

On Nov. 20 Merge introduced a new teleradiology application called Merge TeleRead and a new teleradiology service, Consult PreReads, an image prereading service of its newly formed Merge Healthcare Teleradiology division. Consult PreReads are provided by skilled remotely-based radiologists.

November 27, 2007 - Empiric Systems LLC announced today a joint reseller partnership with Fujifilm that will allow the company to provide a complete radiology RIS/PACS solution for imaging centers and hospitals, allowing Fujifilm to offer and support a single RIS/PACS solution that combines both applications under a single sign-on and single graphical user interface for the radiologist and clinician.

The agreement will combine Empiric Systems’ Encompass.NET Web-based RIS and billing solution into a single offering with Fujifilm’s Synapse PACS.

November 27, 2007 - Gamma Medica-Ideas Inc. has announced its collaboration with Mayo Clinic on a new breast cancer research project, the primary goal of which is to document the advantages of using GM-I’s LumaGEM dual-headed Molecular Breast Imaging (MBI) technology for the early detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The project is funded by a grant from the National Cancer Institute.

November 27, 2007 - Emageon Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a multi-year contract with Novation LLC, the contracting services company of VHA Inc., the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) and Provista, to supply cardiovascular PACS products and services, allowing Emageon to supply its HeartSuite VERICIS Cardiovascular Image and Information Management solution.
