February 26, 2008 – Siemens Healthcare introduced at HIMSS 2008 the general availability of Soarian Quality Measures, a healthcare data-mining tool designed to provide automated chart abstraction of quality measures, as defined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission.

February 25, 2008 - Boston-based Caritas St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center will implement DocuSys Inc.’s anesthesia information management system (AIMS) and medication management system during the 7,500 surgeries it performs annually.

St. Elizabeth's Medical Center has 13 operating rooms and is part of the six-hospital Caritas Christi Health Care system in New England. The center said they are focusing on the collection of detailed patient information before admission and automating the documentation of the anesthesia case with medication decision support.

February 25, 2008 - Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. have launched AmniScreen, an FDA-approved at-home screening test for amniotic fluid leakage during pregnancy, said the company.

AmniScreen is a prescription-only panty liner device that includes a proprietary polymer-coated polyester strip designed to detect amniotic fluid leakage, which could indicate a potential problem with a pregnancy.

February 25, 2008 - HIPAAT Inc, a leading provider of consent management solutions to the healthcare industry, announced the release of its next-generation consent management software, Privacy eSuite V2.0 and Privacy Manager V2.0, at HIMSS 2008.
