February 21, 2008 - Panasonic Computer Solutions will showcase two if its latest notebooks, the Toughbook 52 created for cart-based applications, and its tablet alternative, the Toughbook T7, at HIMSS 2008.

The widescreen Toughbook 52 is built on the new Santa Rosa chipset from Intel and is reportedly as powerful as a desktop replacement notebook. New features include added security, a new carrying handle and optional embedded access to wireless data networks. The MIL-SPEC-certified notebook includes alloy cases, internal connectors and shock-mounted hard drives and LCDs.

February 21, 2008 - The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) is accepting applications for the 2009 grant season.

SIIM offers two $50,000 grants for one year to support original hypothesis-driven research in the field of imaging informatics for residents, fellows, graduate students and junior faculty, said SIIM.
