February 20, 2008 - A newly released set of treatment recommendations for knee and hip osteoarthritis may help millions of people worldwide who live in pain due to inconsistent treatment approaches and confusion about what therapies are most effective.

The 25 recommendations appear in the February issue of Osteoarthritis and Cartilage.

February 20, 2008 - Derma Sciences Inc. announced today that four abstracts detailing the clinical usage of its newly released MEDIHONEY Wound & Burn Dressings with Active Leptospermum Honey were accepted for presentation at the upcoming annual American Professional Wound Care Association conference, held this year between March 6 - 9 in Forth Worth, TX.

February 19, 2008 - Quest Diagnostics Inc. announced that it has licensed rights to uses of the Septin 9 DNA methylation biomarker from Epigenomics AG (Frankfurt, Germany), a cancer molecular diagnostics company, to develop a molecular-based laboratory test designed to help physicians detect colorectal cancer based on a patient’s blood specimen.

February 20, 2008 - Pyng Medical Corp. announced the company has received 510(K) regulatory clearance from the FDA to market its FAST1 Intraosseous (IO) Infusion System, an alternative to conventional IV infusion providing vascular access for fluid and drug resuscitation in shock and trauma victims.

The product has been re-engineered with an infusion tube that no longer requires the use of a removal tool.

The bottom line: We’ve got so much stuff to show and tell you that we can’t shoehorn enough of it in these pages. That’s why you’ll notice “Continued Online” boxes bookending some stories to let you know you can read the “editor’s cut” on the Web (even though, technically, the editor had to cut the story to fit it in print).
