April 16, 2008 -PACS provider American Medical Sales Inc. (AMS) has taken orders for another 11 PACS sites from its distributor network during March 2008.

These included Cerritos Medical Center (Cerritos, CA), Ellsworth Medical Center (Ellsworth, WI), Hammond Clinic (Munster, IN), Hunterdon Orthopedic Group (Fleminton, NJ), Innovative Orthopedics (Plantation, FL), Liberty Clinic (Liberty, TX), Tidewater Community College (Norfolk, VA) and Utah State Department of Corrections (Draper, UT).

April 15, 2008 - Royal Philips Electronics recently said it reached an agreement with the shareholders of Shenzhen Goldway Industrial Inc. to acquire the Chinese patient monitor manufacturer.

The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2008, upon which Goldway will become part of the patient monitoring business within Philips’ Healthcare.
