May 19, 2008 - Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm is slated to be the first in Sweden to offer cancer patients advanced RapidArc treatments, placing orders for three RapidArc systems along with four replacement Clinac linear accelerators, to consolidate the city's radiotherapy software and hardware into an integrated network for greater efficiency.

RapidArc radiotherapy technology is designed to deliver image-guided, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) reportedly two to eight times faster and more precisely than conventional IMRT or helical tomotherapy.

May 19, 2008 – GE’s Centricity PACS-IW (formerly Dynamic Imaging IntegradWeb PACS) products have been ranked No. 1 by KLAS in their annual PACS-Acute Care report, which ranked the top twelve PACS vendors and surveyed over 600 hospitals with 200 or more beds on current vendor performance and trends in the PACS market.

Centricity PACS-IW was the only vendor to receive a perfect score in the evaluated business indicators, including completion of contract, implementation within budget, desire to recommend peer and overall ranking compared to peers.
