FDA MQSA Mammography Full-Field Digital FFDM Women's Health

The majority of certified breast imaging facilities now have full-field digital mammography (FFDM) imaging systems. This is according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) data on the Mammography Quality Standards Act’s (MQSA) program and facilities.

The EOS imaging system will be installed at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Philadelphia. This is the fourth installation within the Shriners Hospitals for Children system, a group of hospitals focused on caring for children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions and other specialty healthcare.

Evena Medical, a developer of high-definition imaging for precision venous access, announced an agreement with a major distribution partner to distribute its products in 15 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. Evena also received a $5 million tranche of the company’s planned $15 million Series B financing. Evena featured its Eyes-On Glasses at HIMSS14 in Orlando, Fla.

Honeywell expanded its Captuvo line of encasements for Apple devices at the HIMSS 2014 Annual Conference & Exposition in Orlando, Fla. The Captuvo SL22h and SL42h are designed for healthcare environments and equip iPod touch (5th generation) and iPhone (5, 5c and 5s) devices. The barcode data collection can increase productivity and support healthcare “Converged Device” strategies.

Accusoft released the Barcode Xpress Mobile software development kits (SDKs) for iOS and Android devices. The SDK empowers developers to integrate mobile device barcode recognition into existing apps, or to build apps based on the sample code included with the kit.
