ViewRay Inc. announced that Acibadem Maslak Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey has begun treating patients with ViewRay's MRIdian Linac. The MRIdian Linac is the first system to combine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guidance and linear accelerator radiation delivery. These treatments mark the first in Turkey using MRI-guided radiation therapy.
ViewRay Inc. announced new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologies under development for its MRIdian Linac radiotherapy system. Designed to improve tumor and soft tissue visualization, these enhancements to MRIdian's SmartVision MR image guidance are expected to further improve the precision by which radiation is delivered to treat cancer.
The Henry Ford Cancer Institute is the first in Michigan – and first in the world – to offer patients advanced radiation therapy with the ViewRay MRIdian Linac system. The system uses a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved real-time magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and linear accelerator delivery for more precise and accurate radiation treatment.
