This channel includes news and technology innovations for artificial intelligence (AI) software, also referred to as deep learning, cognitive computing and machine learning. AI technology is being integrated in radiology for imaging appropriate use criteria (AUC), clinical decision support, predictive analytics and to assist radiologists with improved workflow.

An example of artificial intelligence (AI) being developed by Hitachi to automatically review and identify nodules on lung CT scans. This is part of a suite of AI apps Hitachi is developing. This example was being shown as a work in progress at RSNA 2019.

This is a lung X-ray reviewed automatically by artificial intelligence (AI) to identify a collapsed lung (pneumothorax) in the color coded area. This AI app from Lunit is awaiting final FDA review and in planned to be integrated into several vendors' mobile digital radiography (DR) systems. Fujifilm showed this software integrated as a work-in-progress into its mobile X-ray system at RSNA 2019.
