Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., will have the first clinical 7-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner in North America that has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Magnetom Terra from Siemens Healthineers will be operational at Mayo Clinic later in 2017.

October 20, 2017 — Surgeons at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have for the first time used a real-time, image-guided robot to insert screws into a patient’s spine. With last week’s surgery, Johns Hopkins joins the growing number of hospitals in the United States that offer robotic-assisted spine surgery.

October 20, 2017 — Edward-Elmhurst Health of Naperville, Ill., has installed four Carestream DRX-Evolution Plus and DRX-Evolution systems, two DRX-Ascend systems, three DRX-Revolution mobile X-ray systems and retrofitted nine rooms with Carestream DRX detectors.
