A new study finds that trends in colonoscopy rates did not fully align with the increase in colorectal cancer (CRC) in younger adults, adding to evidence that the rise in early onset CRC is not solely a result of more detection. The study is published early online in the Journal of Medical Screening.

IBA (Ion Beam Applications S.A.) recently signed a contract and received the first payment for a Proteus One solution with The University of Kansas Health System. The contract includes a plan for a possible extension with a second ProteusOne unit in the future. The proton therapy center will be built at the Main Campus of The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas. Construction is anticipated to begin later this year.

Montefiore Nyack Hospital, an acute care hospital in Rockland County, N.Y., announced it is utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) software to assist in identifying urgent life-threatening conditions on patient computed tomography (CT) scans. The commercial solution from medical AI company Aidoc automatically prioritizes critical medical conditions, ensuring patients are diagnosed and treated faster. Montefiore Nyack is the first regional hospital in the New York metropolitan area to use Aidoc, joining more than 160 medical centers worldwide.
