Pressed to do more, some radiologists are burning out. And the problem may be getting worse.

In 2011, about half of radiologists reported being burned out, according to the American College of Radiology (ACR). Three years later that rate had jumped even higher to about 60 percent, according to the ACR.

November 18, 2019 — A study by the Centre for Advanced Research in Imaging, Neuroscience and Genomics (CARING) found that AI powered CAD software can reduce hedging and defensive reporting statements in radiologist reports, resulting in clearer and more actionable diagnosis descriptions. The study was undertaken using Oxipit ChestEye AI imaging suite.

November 18, 2019 — A recent report by security firm Emsisoft stated that at least 621 government entities, healthcare service providers and school districts, colleges and universities in the United States were affected by ransomware in the first nine months of 2019. Another IBM study reported that data breaches cost the healthcare sector $6.5 million on average. Despite these alarming numbers, many healthcare providers still choose to risk their patient data on-premise.
