BRIT Systems has introduced Roentgen Burner, a DICOM-compliant, automated solution for producing custom-labeled CDs and/or DVDs that contain medical images and BRIT’s image viewing software. The solution combines the company’s production server with one of Rimage’s CD and/or DVD production systems.

NIO COLOR 2MP from Barco features a 2-megapixel (1,600 by 1,200 resolution), 20.1-inch color LCD, offering superior image quality under all viewing angles. The display system is optimized to display both color and grayscale medical data sets and is fully compatible with 2-D and 3-D applications. Barco carefully color matches the displays in every dual-head display system to guarantee that the color characteristics of the displays are consistent. This allows radiologists to perform their work without distracting color differences inherent in LCD panels.

American Mammographics has developed the new S.O.F.T. Paddle for Screening Mammography. S.O.F.T. Paddle is the "Special Optimized Full Tilt" compression paddle and is used as an alternative to the conventional flat compression paddle in screening mammography for superior compression of the mid- and anterior-breast with less patient discomfort.

Designed to meet the demands of modern mammography practices, the MAMMOMAT NovationDR provides digital screening, diagnosis and stereotactic biopsy capabilities all in one system.
Featuring an innovative flat-panel detector based on amorphous Selenium (aSe) technology, MAMMOMAT NovationDR enables a direct conversion of X-ray to digital information. The aSe detector technology has the potential to provide higher spatial resolution and greater clinical detail, resulting in exceptional diagnostic accuracy.

Now available in two additional sizes, 12 and 20 mm, the Intact Breast Lesion Excision System (BLES) provides physicians with more flexibility in diagnostic choice.
The Intact BLES procedure is a vacuum-assisted, image-guided procedure in which a slender probe is inserted through a small incision to remove a small lump of suspicious tissue.
Because the procedure produces a larger, intact specimen from the region of interest, it is less prone to sampling error and increases the opportunity for diagnostic accuracy compared to percutaneous core biopsy.

The LumiVue flat panel illuminators utilize the latest and most effective features available in film viewing. The illuminator’s backlight technology employs the highest daylight color temperature for improving contrast and providing a uniformity greater than 90 percent.
The LumiVue LVA provides a luminance of 3,500 nits and a uniformity greater than 90 percent, while maintaining a thickness of only 1.5 inches. Each bank features 16 external electrode fluorescent lamps and an individual switch. Options include film activated switches, dimming and a desktop stand.

With a focus on productivity and workflow improvements in digital mammography and breast imaging information management, Fuji's Synapse multimodality breast imaging workstation configuration uses FDA-cleared display technology that permits the diagnostic display, analysis and interpretation of any FFDM exam, along with related multimodality exams. Unlike other dedicated FFDM diagnostic stations for mammography images only, Synapse workstation configuration can be used as a full-featured diagnostic workstation for any imaging exam, thereby providing additional workflow improvements.

The ARCADIS Varic is a syngo speaking C-arm system. The integration of this Siemens software platform into ARCADIS Varic will allow surgery staff to access all clinical patient information online, including multimodality viewing for CT and MR at the touch of a button. In addition, syngo supports all DICOM functionalities for simplified and streamlined workflow, and its intuitive user interface helps to decrease staff training time.

The Cmax General Surgical Table has features that enhance its safety, clinical versatility, efficiency, reliability and ease of use. An 18-inch powered longitudinal slide provides full-body C-arm access without having to reverse patient orientation on the table. 1100-pound supine and prone positioning and 600-pound patient articulation capacities add bariatric capabilities to the table’s remarkable clinical versatility.

The FDA has granted clearance for the new series of CT systems that now include much of the advanced technology available on GE’s volume CT system, the LightSpeed VCT, in a smaller package. The new BrightSpeed scanners provide the same image quality and productivity capabilities of the LightSpeed systems, but on the new BrightSpeed 4-, 8- and 16-slice CT systems. The scanners can be installed in a similar footprint to a single-slice CT system, eliminating the need to renovate or enlarge existing radiology departments.
