Odyssey treatment planning from Permedics Inc. is an open planning system, Windows XP-based with fast optimization and calculation for protons, electrons and photons. It performs fast IMRT and fiducial localization for stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for photons. Odyssey also offers Intensity Modulated Proton Therapy (IMPT) and scanned beam/variable energy solutions for protons. All of these solutions are integrated into a common user interface and are prescription-based for summation, comparisons and evaluation.
Odyssey interfaces with AlignRT, a new advanced solution for patient tracking through real-time surface imaging of up to 20,000 points on the patient’s skin. Interfacing is performed through DICOM RT Import and Export as well as RT Plan. Gating and 4-D motion is a works-in-progress.
