The new Lumitex VersaLight is a single-use surgical device that provides a unique combination of features for gynecological, general, colorectal, plastic and a range of other surgical procedures.

The new AIM-100 Minor Surgery Light from Burton Medical provides illumination and unparalleled aesthetics. With a Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 97, 5800 footcandles (63,000 lux) at 1 meter, and a color temperature of 3,700 degrees Kelvin, it enhances vision by allowing a true rendition of colors. This light has three cool 35-watt quartz halogen bulbs —each rated with a 2,000-hour average bulb life.

The first 45-cm disposable laparoscopic electrode with patented E-Z Clean PTFE-coated electrosurgical tip for bariatric procedures has been introduced. E-Z Clean is a patented, green nonstick coating. E-Z clean tips minimize eschar build up and are used with lower power settings, which reduces excess smoke and thermal necrosis.

The 45-cm electrodes come in four tip configurations: curved, L-hook, J-hook and L-wire for use on procedures where additional length is indicated such as gastric bypass and gastric banding. All are available in hand- activated and foot control versions.

NIO COLOR 2MP from Barco features a 2-megapixel (1,600 by 1,200 resolution), 20.1-inch color LCD, offering superior image quality under all viewing angles. The display system is optimized to display both color and grayscale medical data sets and is fully compatible with 2-D and 3-D applications. Barco carefully color matches the displays in every dual-head display system to guarantee that the color characteristics of the displays are consistent. This allows radiologists to perform their work without distracting color differences inherent in LCD panels.

ScanX line of digital imaging systems are now equipped with In-Line Erase, and continue to feature the same rapid image cycle times and compact dimensions as prior models. All models will read the imaging PSP (Phosphor Storage Plate), then immediately erase it in the same continuous cycle. A fully erased, ready-to-reuse 1-by- 17-inch plate is available in just 55 seconds.

Part of an innovative new approach to workflow includes a new structure for managing advanced visualization. A common challenge experienced by practitioners working in clinical environments comes from time wasted moving between different applications (and workstations) to perform routine image analysis of different diagnostic data.

Horizon Rad Station eJacket from McKesson enables quick access to exam results using a Web browser. It provides referring physicians with portable access to information from the diagnostic imaging service for the studies they ordered for their patients. This information includes reports with embedded flagged images, scanned documents, voice clips, flagged images or the entire image set.

The Nihon Kohden NTX non-invasive telemetry transmitter is capable of monitoring ECG, Sp02, respiration and non-invasive blood pressure. The transmitter operates in the new protected WMTS frequency band and provides economical operation through the use of 3 alkaline AA batteries.

The Aurora 1.5T Dedicated Breast MRI System with innovative new UltraRODEO Plus fat and normal ductal tissue suppression technique, AuroraCAD integrated diagnostic software, Aurora SUPERSHIM and fully integrated and easy-to-use MRI-guided AuroraBIOPSY functionality is the only FDA-cleared dedicated breast MRI system on the market. This device utilizes a specialized breast-coil design which provides an elliptical “sweet spot” that images both breasts, chest wall and axillae in a single bilateral scan, without compromise in image contrast or resolution.

Nucletron Oncentra ConeBeam now offers clinicians the ability to acquire a large volume of multislice CT data on a conventional simulator, providing the best of both worlds: digital fluoroscopy and CT imaging on one modality. This concept is advantageous in that it reduces space requirements and equipment costs for the department. For the first time, all radiotherapy patients can be imaged in the true treatment position, making the planning process easier, more reproducible and, therefore more accurate.
