March 7, 2007 - Kodak recently announced it has obtained Health Canada approval for its DirectView CR computed radiography (CR) system, a mammography feature which enables mammography images to be captured digitally while utilizing the health provider's existing mammography X-ray unit, the company will immediately begin selling this system in Canada.

Kodak has also applied for regulatory approval from the FDA in order to begin selling this system in the U.S.

March 6, 2007 — Maquet Critical Care announced its has received FDA 510(k) clearance for its breakthrough NAVA (Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist) technology for optional use with the company’s SERVO-i ventilator. The SERVO-i ventilator with NAVA option is intended for treatment and monitoring of all patients, neonatal, pediatric and adults who require mechanical ventilation.

March 6, 2007 — Stinger Medical has developed Mobius, the only mobile continuous power system that allows clinicians to exchange power modules on the fly without interrupting workflow.

Nurses pop the lightweight power pack into a compartment at the side of the mobile workstation and are free from workflow-inhibiting charging protocols, downtime caused by power system charging and equipment in the hallways. They simply work until the power is drained, then grab another power box from the nurses’ station, replace the used system for charging and continue on their way.

March 6, 2007 - Research recently presented at the thirty-second annual Scientific Meeting of the Society of Interventional Radiology shows that the non-surgical tumor treatment, radiofrequency ablation, reportedly heats and destroys nerve endings in painful tumors, preserving the patient's healthy bone, preventing major surgery and eliminating the need for lengthy rehabilitation and recovery.
