August 6, 2007 - The American Society of Emergency Radiology (ASER) will hold its 2007 Annual Scientific Meeting Oct. 3-6 in San Diego, CA.

The meeting is intended to provide a broad experience in state-of-the-art emergency imaging through: 1. educational sessions on the latest trends and advances in emergency radiologic diagnosis and 2. sessions presenting new original scientific work.

August 6, 2007 - Breast MRI enables radiologists to improve identification of tumors missed by mammography and ultrasound, according to a new study, ‘Cancer Yield of Mammography, MR and US in High-Risk Women: Prospective Multi-Institution Breast Cancer Screening Study,’ published in the August issue of the journal Radiology. The multi-center study compared the three imaging modalities in women at high risk for breast cancer.

August 3, 2007 - The Society for Women’s Health Research has established a new scientific health research network that will explore how the sexes differ in health and disease related to bones, muscles and joints.

August 3, 2007 – The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology’s (ASTRO) new brochure, Radiation Therapy for Lymphoma, is a short treatment guide to assist people coping with Hodgkin’s and nonHodgkin’s lymphoma, and outlines the major differences between the diseases, explains radiation therapy’s role in treatment and what patients can expect before, during and after radiation therapy.
