January 16, 2008 - AT&T Inc. announced this week it is extending a networking services contract with Welch Allyn.

Under the terms of the three-year $5.1 million renewed agreement, AT&T will continue to provide OneNet Voice Services and Virtual Private Network (VPN) services spanning 12 global locations. These services include remote access and a network-based firewall over AT&T’s Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-based network.

January 16, 2008 - Hillenbrand Industries Inc. said today it filed paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that should separate Hillenbrand’s two operating companies, Hill-Rom, the company’s medical technology business, and Batesville Casket, the company’s death care business, by March 31, 2008.

The company filed the first amendment to the Batesville Holdings Inc. Form 10 registration statement with the SEC related to the previously announced separation of Hill-Rom and Batesville Casket.

January 16, 2008 - Carrington Laboratories Inc. today said its wholly owned DelSite Biotechnologies Inc. subsidiary successfully completed preclinical toxicology studies of its GelVac nasal powder influenza vaccine under FDA-reviewed protocols.

This vaccine candidate is believed to be the only nasal powder vaccine under development that, if approved, could be shipped without refrigeration to peoples' homes and self-administered in the event of a pandemic outbreak of avian bird flu.

An extension of the MultiSync 90-Series, this 30-inch display is a 4-megapixel (2560 x 1600), wide-gamut, wide-screen LCD designed for premium color performance. The LCD3090WQXi features ColorCompT, which reduces LCD uniformity errors, and compensates for differences in color/grayscale and luminance, and advanced backlight technology, which enables the display to produce 102 percent of the NTSC color scale, the company said.

January 15, 2008 - DocuSys Inc. has finalized a letter of intent to acquire Prompte LLC, a Chicago-based software provider of solutions designed to standardize and streamline the earliest stages of surgical planning through the capture of a patient’s health history.

DocuSys representatives said the transaction is expected to close within 30 days.

January 15, 2008 - Allscripts said today that it transmitted more electronic prescriptions in 2007 over the Pharmacy Health Information Exchange than any other e-prescribing vendor and it had more electronic prescribers connected to the Exchange than any other company during 2007.
