January 16, 2008 - Hillenbrand Industries Inc. said today it filed paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that should separate Hillenbrand’s two operating companies, Hill-Rom, the company’s medical technology business, and Batesville Casket, the company’s death care business, by March 31, 2008.

The company filed the first amendment to the Batesville Holdings Inc. Form 10 registration statement with the SEC related to the previously announced separation of Hill-Rom and Batesville Casket.

January 16, 2008 - Carrington Laboratories Inc. today said its wholly owned DelSite Biotechnologies Inc. subsidiary successfully completed preclinical toxicology studies of its GelVac nasal powder influenza vaccine under FDA-reviewed protocols.

This vaccine candidate is believed to be the only nasal powder vaccine under development that, if approved, could be shipped without refrigeration to peoples' homes and self-administered in the event of a pandemic outbreak of avian bird flu.

January 15, 2008 - DocuSys Inc. has finalized a letter of intent to acquire Prompte LLC, a Chicago-based software provider of solutions designed to standardize and streamline the earliest stages of surgical planning through the capture of a patient’s health history.

DocuSys representatives said the transaction is expected to close within 30 days.

January 15, 2008 - Janssen-Cilag International NV announced today IONSYS (fentanyl iontophoretic transdermal system), a new needle-free system for the management of acute post-operative pain in a hospital setting, will become available in Germany, the U.K. and Ireland this week.

These countries represent the first markets to launch this product, and additional launches in other European countries are planned for the coming months.
